Liturgy Service
Feb 12 @ 10:30 am – 12:00 pm

We gather every Sunday Liturgy. The word liturgy means “work, or work of the people,” and it is work of the people, not for the people (which is the distinction between liturgy and magic, since magic is directed for some outcome for people).  Liturgy is different than a service which often is entertainment at its worst, or passively watching and listening to what is going on at church.  Liturgy, rather, is something we do together.

Ash Wednesday Service @ St Philip Neri Ecumenical Church
Feb 22 @ 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Entering Lent

We enter a period of 40 days to reflect on the great love that God has for each of us and to enter more deeply into that love.  Ash Wednesday is the beginning of the Lenten journey. It is a time that points to Spring and New Life through the resurrection.  And it is a time to grow in the wisdom of Jesus through prayer, reflection, and practice.  We are invited to not just fast, but to also feast on the positive growth opportunities in our life.

Come join us on Wednesday, February 22nd as we open the season of Lent dusting each other in ashes. Let our dust be transformed into love. Invite a friend to our church community gathering.

First Reading Jl 2: 12-18

Psalm Ps 51: 3-4. 5-6ab. 12-13. 14 and 17

Second Reading  2 Cor 5: 20 — 6:2

Gospel Mt 6: 1-6. 16-18

Hour of Healing Prayer at St. Philip Neri Ecumenical Church 12:00-1:00 pm @ St Philip Neri Ecumenical Church
Mar 5 @ 11:30 am – 12:30 pm

HOUR OF HEALING PRAYER

The Healing Prayer Ministry of St. Philip Neri Ecumenical Church is offering an Hour of Healing Prayer on the FIRST Sunday of every month, immediately following the Liturgy.  The Hour Of Healing Prayer will begin at approximately 11:30 am.  Anyone who wishes to receive prayer is welcome to come.

There will be a scripture selected and read at the beginning of the hour followed by a period of about 20 minutes per session of healing prayer. There will always be two prayer ministers present to pray with each person.

If you have a need for Healing Prayer for yourself or someone else and you are not able to come for prayer, please Email Marge Townsend at squattie@bellsouth.net and we will place the name on our Prayer List.

This is the sign of the believers, they lay hands on the sick and they recover.” Mark 16:18

Lectio Divina @ St. Philip Neri Church
Mar 15 @ 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm

Every third Wednesday at 3:00pm, join us at St. Philip Neri Ecumenical Church for a contemplative Bible reading practice known as Lectio Divina led by Rev. Deacon Dianne Larson.

Lectio Divina is a way of praying the scriptures that leads us deeper into God’s word. We read a short passage more than once, to listen, ponder, pray, and rest on the scriptures. We welcome all who wish to participate once, or occasionally, or every month! Come and see!
