THE 8TH ANNUAL REDTIE AFFAIR
Home / The 8th Annual RedTie Affair
The RedTie Affair benefits the Teddy Bear Touchdown, a Christmas party for local children affected by HIV and AIDS. Join us November 12 at the River City Brewing Company for heavy hors d’oeuvres, a DJ and live entertainment, and a silent auction on the beautiful St. Johns River.
Wear a red tie to show your support for those with HIV/AIDS and enjoy the evening, knowing that your ticket purchase will provide presents for children whose families are struggling with this disease.
Tickets may be purchased in advance (go to http://lssjax.org/event/redtie-affair/ ) or at the door. $25.00 each.

We gather every Sunday Liturgy. The word liturgy means “work, or work of the people,” and it is work of the people, not for the people (which is the distinction between liturgy and magic, since magic is directed for some outcome for people). Liturgy is different than a service which often is entertainment at its worst, or passively watching and listening to what is going on at church. Liturgy, rather, is something we do together.
QUARTERLY CHURCH COUNCIL COMMITTEE MEETING
The Church Council/Leadership 2016 quarterly meets today.
Meetings are held after the Sunday liturgy. All are welcome to attend and participate. We invite you to stay for the meetings and share your thoughts and ideas or just ask questions.
Please feel free to contact Becky Hamilton if you have any questions. She can be reached at (904)229-9472 or bhamilton@gatepetro.com
St. Philip Neri weekly Bible Study Group named ‘The Pilot Light Scripture Study and Prayer Group’ because we will focus on prayer and community building, as well as Scripture. The meetings will reflect our Liturgy in that after reading and sharing in God’s Word, we will pray together as a community for individuals and the world, as well as share in Communion.
The week can be long from Sunday to Sunday; let’s keep our Pilot Light of Love burning for Christ all week long! The Pilot Light group will meet on Wednesdays, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. All are welcome! Invite your friends!
